Life Can Be Magical
A peek into my new book, Let Her Return

A woman in a spaceship just circled the moon. My daughter has always wanted to be an astronaut and she’s working toward it. I know how important the science is, but at the same time, I can’t help but recognize how freakin’ magical this is.
Magic is all around us and even in us. I believe it’s the energy we receive and put out into the world. However, somewhere in our life, the magic starts to fade. The business and go faster of it all takes over and we find ourselves powerless in our own lives.
When I talk about awakening to my clients, I also talk about noticing again and seeing the magic around you and in your life. It can even be as simple as falling in love with a book again.
Here’s an excerpt from my book Let Her Return where I go deeper.
When I was younger, I was a huge fan of the Twilight franchise. Fantasy books and movies had always been such an important escape for me. I honestly think that is why I loved ballet so much. It was fantasy come to life on a stage.
I would wait in front of the bookstore for the release of new books, and I went to midnight showings of movies when they premiered. It was a huge part of my young adult life, and I had built community and experiences around my love of sparkly vampires and dreams of escaping into the Pacific Northwest.
As I grew older, something happened. I became practical. I stopped reading as much and did not have time for movies. My life became a little more dull, I would say, and the magic that I had surrounded myself with disappeared.
When my awakening began, I found myself drawn to witchcraft and the idea of magic. As I dove in deeper, met others and started practicing, what I realized is that it wasn’t witchcraft that had me spellbound, it was the idea that we hold the magic. We hold the power. As I remembered my power and my magic, I recalled the magical things I had left behind. I returned to my fantasy books and movies and let me tell you: my life has never felt more magical.
Awakening is never about redefining yourself or inventing a new version of yourself. It’s remembering who you are deep down, connecting with the version of you that was left behind as life took over, and honoring a version of you that was abandoned to make way for productivity and hustle.
My challenge to you is to find the magic again in whatever area makes the most sense.
